Marketing & tracking
Reviews, discounts, marketing pixels, and the product catalog feed.
Campaigns and automations
Open Marketing → Campaigns & automations to send a campaign now, schedule it, or create a rule that reacts to abandoned checkout, new-customer, paid-order, or low-stock events. These workflows use the built-in queue and deterministic rules—no paid AI API key is required. Each automation source is deduplicated before email delivery.
Customer marketing is sent only to active newsletter subscribers. Campaign emails include a secure, store-scoped unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing immediately excludes the address from campaigns and customer automations. Re-entering the storefront signup form is an explicit re-subscription. Operational low-stock alerts go to the merchant and do not depend on customer marketing consent.
Reviews
Customers can leave a star rating, title, body, and photos on any product — no account required, just a name and email. An order placed with that same email auto-marks the review as a verified purchase.
Moderating reviews
- Publish or hide any review; reply publicly as the store.
- Customer-flagged reviews surface as open reports you can resolve.
- Select multiple reviews with the checkboxes and Delete selected to clean up spam in bulk.
Importing/exporting reviews
Reviews → Export CSV downloads your current reviews; Import CSV bulk-creates reviews from a file — the way most stores backfill a review history when migrating from another platform. Required columns are product_slug, rating, reviewer_name, reviewer_email; a preview shows exactly what will import before you confirm, and any row that fails is reported individually without blocking the rows that succeed.
Review incentives
Turn on an automatic discount code emailed after a customer submits a review — optionally restricted to reviews that include a photo or video.
Discounts
Create percentage or fixed-amount discount codes with usage limits (total, and per customer), minimum order requirements, and an optional expiry date.
Marketing pixels & verification
Settings → Marketing connects your storefront to Facebook, TikTok, and Google — no code editing required:
- Facebook Pixel + Conversions API token — purchases fire both from the browser and from the server after the visitor grants marketing consent. A domain verification field is included for Meta Business Manager.
- TikTok Pixel + Events API token — same dual browser/server firing, plus TikTok's own domain verification field.
- Google Analytics measurement ID, and Google Ads conversion ID/label — Enhanced Conversions (hashed email matching) is sent after marketing consent once an Ads conversion ID is set, no extra setup.
- Google Search Console site-verification field.
Every purchase event uses the order's own ID as the event ID on both the browser and server side, so Facebook and TikTok correctly dedupe the two instead of double-counting a sale. The scripts are not loaded—and server events are not sent—before marketing consent.
First-party attribution
The platform's own analytics works even when no third-party pixel is configured and the visitor grants Analytics consent. It records privacy-reduced anonymous sessions, UTM source/medium/campaign/term/content, external referrer hostname, product discovery, cart, checkout, and completed-order milestones. Google, Meta, and TikTok click IDs are stored only as tenant-salted hashes—never as raw identifiers. View the resulting funnel and source conversion rates under Analytics → Overview. Raw IP addresses, full referrer URLs, emails, and raw user-agent strings are never retained in historical analytics.
Product catalog feed
The same Marketing settings page shows a feed URL (/feeds/{your-store}/products.xml) in the Google Shopping XML format. Paste it into Facebook Commerce Manager, TikTok Catalog Manager, or Google Merchant Center as a scheduled feed, and your product catalog stays in sync automatically — this is the same mechanism those platforms' own Shopify apps use to auto-generate a catalog from your products, just without needing a separate app installed.
Where to find this
Reviews and Discounts live under Content/Sales in the sidebar; pixels and the feed URL are under Settings → Marketing, and first-party attribution is under Analytics → Overview.
