Products & catalog
Products, variants, collections, categories, and inventory across locations.
Adding a product
From Products → Add product, fill in:
- Title, description, and images (drag to reorder).
- Options and variants — e.g. an option named "Size" with values Small/Medium/Large generates one variant per combination automatically. Each variant gets its own SKU, price, compare-at price, barcode, and weight.
- Vendor, product type, and tags — used for filtering, search, and automated collections.
- Status: Draft (hidden), Active (visible and buyable), or Archived.
- SEO title/description and a URL handle (slug) for the product page.
A product needs at least one variant and an Active status with stock (or "open stock" enabled) before it can actually be purchased on the storefront.
Bulk import/export
Products → Import accepts CSV files exported directly from Shopify or WooCommerce. Shopify products are grouped by Handle; WooCommerce simple and variable products are mapped from Type, Name, prices, stock, attributes, tags, weights, and remote image URLs. The preview identifies the format and shows what will be imported before you confirm.
Products are upserted by handle or generated slug, and variants are matched by SKU. That means re-importing an edited file updates the catalog instead of creating duplicates, while cart, order, and inventory history tied to an existing variant stays intact. Failed rows are reported individually and rows that pass are still saved.
Before migrating
Keep SKU values unique and use fullhttps:// image URLs. The automatic import covers catalog data; customer/order history, reviews, media cleanup and redirects are available as an assisted migration because those need a store-specific audit.Collections
Two kinds:
- Manual — you choose exactly which products belong, in whatever order you like.
- Automated — define conditions (e.g. product type is "Shoes" and tagged "summer") and matching products are added and removed automatically as your catalog changes.
Collections get their own storefront page and can be featured on your homepage via the theme editor.
Categories
Categories are a simpler, hierarchical way to browse your catalog (Home > Electronics > Headphones, for example) — every product belongs to at most one category, unlike collections, which a product can belong to many of.
Inventory
Inventory is tracked per variant, per location. If you sell from more than one warehouse or store location, each keeps its own stock count. From the Inventory page you can:
- Adjust stock levels manually, with a reason recorded on the movement ledger.
- Create purchase orders to receive new stock from a supplier into a location.
- Transfer stock between two locations.
- See everything running low at a glance — the same list feeds the dashboard's Low stock widget.
Every change — a sale, a manual adjustment, a received purchase order, a transfer — is recorded as a stock movement, so you can always trace exactly why a number changed.
